Parenting is tough, and sometimes being an environmentally friendly parent can seem impossible.
When it comes to environmentally friendly nappies, Little and Brave have come to the rescue!
Owners Tahlia and Semisi Hutchison wanted to reduce the waste from disposable nappies, but found that cloth diapers weren't working for their family.
Together with Tassie scientist, Sue Allison-Rogers, they developed NZ's first fully compostable nappies, baby wipes, and disposal bags. But these eco-entrepreneurs didn't stop there, to properly 'close the loop' they started an Auckland based composting service to safely dispose of their product at the end of its life cycle.
"Little & Brave Eco Nappies was borne from the desire to make sustainable changes for a cleaner, better future for our children. When I say 'children', I don't simply mean Tahlia and I's sons but all the future generations we can help." says dad and co-founder Semisi Hutchinson.
"We are genuinely in a 'waste crisis' at the moment in New Zealand and it is getting worse every day."
Semisi is worried about how this crisis will impact not just his own children, but all future generations. "worryingly, ... this crisis will not affect us at the moment but will heavily impact the quality of life and quality of the environment for future generations."
"We were delighted to know that the wood pulp and bamboo pulp used in our fully commercially compostable Eco Nappies are FSC-certified."
"So we are certain that we are selling products that will help minimise a major waste-to-landfill waste stream while at the same time helping to ensure we preserve our vital rainforests and heritage forests."
"Together, Little & Brave and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) make a promising team for a brighter, cleaner, less-polluted future."

Little & Brave Eco Nappies wanted to create a genuine 'closed loop' product and process. Selling fully commercially compostable nappies, disposal bags and baby wipes paired with opening a commercial composting site in Auckland.
"So naturally when we found out about the FSC, we were overjoyed. We had found an ally who believe in creating a sustainable future for our world and our children."
"What we love about the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is that they are protecting the rain forests, which in turn helps protect our ecosystem, which in turn helps protects us and importantly our children. We at Little & Brave love what the FSC do and are honoured to be involved."
