Vale Dr David Blair

We are deeply saddened to learn about the tragic passing of Dr David Blair. David was a highly respected environmental scientist and champion of Victorian Ash Forests. FSC Australia was fortunate to benefit from David’s expertise as an environment chamber member of the Australian Standard Development Group (SDG).

On behalf of the Directors, staff and members of FSC Australia, I wish to acknowledge David’s considerable contribution to FSC in Australia. As a botanist with in-depth expertise in Mountain Ash forests, his contributions to the SDG have been invaluable.

He worked tirelessly with the SDG over five years to make the Australian FSC Standard credible and workable, and eventually, finalised and approved. My hope is that the Standard is part of his considerable legacy in uncovering the wonders of Victorian Ash forests.
