Peter Darbyshire, Merchandise & Planning General Manager, presented the new The Warehouse Group Wood & Paper Sourcing Policy. Over the next three years, Warehouse Stationery has committed to use FSC Certified materials wherever possible in all their wood and paper based products. To achieve this they have set minimum sustainability certification standards that suppliers must meet. These standards vary by country, recognising the differences in national sustainability legislation. In NZ, suppliers will be able to choose between FSC and PEFC certification to ensure responsible sourcing.
Fun fact: The Warehouse was also one of the first retailers in New Zealand to sell outdoor furniture products that were made from 100% sustainably sourced wood. Great job!
