Clarification on Board Rotation at the 2024 AGM
At the upcoming 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Responsible Forest Management Australia Limited (FSC® Australia), there will be only one available position for a Board Director and that is in the Economic Chamber.
Members may notice a shift in the usual board rotation cycle. While the three-year term length for Board Directors has not changed, an adjustment was necessary due to an unforeseen circumstance in 2023. In 2023 the incoming Social Chamber Director was unable to commence their role. To maintain balanced representation across all chambers and allow Board meetings to proceed, one Board member from both the Environmental and Economic Chambers temporarily stepped down. Once new Social Chamber members were successfully recruited, those vacated positions were reinstated under a one-year casual vacancy, and chamber balance was restored. These members were later re-elected for full three-year terms, which has altered the usual rotational flow.
We are pleased to inform you that this issue has now been fully addressed through necessary constitutional updates. However, as a result of the adjustments made to align with the Constitution, there is only one position available in the Economic Chamber for this year’s election.
We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to uphold a fair and effective governance structure for all members.
If you have any questions about the AGM, please reach out to us at info@au.fsc.org.
We look forward to seeing you there,
