We at FSC Australia and New Zealand want to thank everyone who celebrated in solidarity with us on Friday 25 September. 2020 has been an exhausting and challenging year no matter where you are in the world. The need to celebrate togetherness has never been greater in our lifetime. So, it was heartening to have so many supporters come together and celebrate forest for all – together.
One thing that has remained consistent throughout 2020 is a continued passion and commitment to sustainability, and protecting our forests, from all parts of the world. Our digital celebrations yielded very positive engagements.
Globally, we had over 27,000 engagements on Instagram alone. Meanwhile, our Twitter reached over one million people and an Australian based advocate reached over 5,000 views on their video.
The role FSC plays in protecting our forests is crucial – seven in 10 consumers around the world feel that sustainability claims should be independently verified. FSC’s methodical and rigorous process of certification ensures the highest levels of protection are put in place for all our forests.
The deepest respect for our forests here in Australia has been demonstrated all year by our partners and we thoroughly enjoyed celebrated the differences you all make last Friday. In 2021 FSC Australia and New Zealand will help businesses and consumers transition to society that stops taking nature for granted and preserves forests for all – forever.
