The IGI Steering Committee held a meeting on 30 January and agreed on the dates for the First Public Consultation of the First Draft of the International Generic Indicators. We are pleased to announce that the consultation will begin on 15 February and run for 60 days to the 15 April 2013.

Since the last IGI Group meeting held in October 2012, both the Working Group and the Technical Experts have been working together with PSU to finalize the First Draft of the IGIs. Two technical drafters were also hired to contribute to the development of the standard.
Once the First Draft is agreed for publication by the chamber balanced Working Group, Regional and National Workshops will take place in all regions. The aim of these workshops is to gather Network Partners, Standards Developments Groups and stakeholders to agree on regional and national feedback to the First Draft of the IGIs and to start working on the development of their National Standards. More information on these workshops will also be published soon on the IGI website.
