The revised FSC Forest Stewardship Standard (FSS) for Australia. The new deadline for submitting feedback is 30 September 2025.
Recognising the importance of receiving feedback from a wide spectrum of stakeholders regarding the draft FSS, FSC ANZ has decided to extend the consultation period by one month.
Key changes proposed
The revised FSS includes proposed changes relating to issues like:
- The use of highly hazardous pesticides
- Intact Forest Landscapes and Indigenous Cultural Landscapes
- Salvage logging in the wake of disturbance events
- Workers’ rights
The Standards Development Group (SDG), responsible for drafting the revised standard, encourages all interested stakeholders to participate in the revision by providing feedback on the proposed changes.
