Joining the FSC family in 2020, Patricia took on the role of Trademarks and Partnerships Manager. In this capacity, she spearheaded a transformative revamp of the Promotional License Holder's program, aligning it seamlessly with FSC's mission. Patricia's work with the program extended beyond the office, as she cultivated robust relationships through the introduction of a partnership model with FSC ANZ's retail partners. Collaborating closely with the team, Patricia laid the groundwork for the program's continued success, eventually passing the reins to FSC ANZ's Trademarks and Engagement Lead Jennifer Nicita, resulting in remarkable growth and collaboration with our Promotional Licence Holders.
Upon the departure of former CEO Damian Paull, Patricia stepped into the role of Interim CEO, providing leadership and support to the team from June to October 2022. With her strategic acumen and strong management skills, Patricia steered the organisation competently through this transition.
A defining aspect of Patricia’s time at FSC ANZ was her unwavering dedication to FSC's initiatives aimed at empowering Indigenous communities to develop sustainable forest-based livelihoods. This work was primarily carried out through FSC's Indigenous Working Group in her role as its secretary.
CEO of FSC Australia and New Zealand, Melanie Robertson notes, “As Patricia embarks on a new chapter in her career, FSC ANZ expresses heartfelt gratitude for her impactful contributions. We extend our best wishes for continued success in all her future endeavours. Patricia has left an enduring legacy at FSC, and her contributions will be remembered with much appreciation.”
Patricia Fitzsimons was a dedicated, hard-working, and friendly colleague who established strong relationships with external stakeholders and with colleagues across the FSC system.
