As many of you will know, Jonathan La Nauze has provided a substantial contribution to the Board of FSC for some time as a nominated representative of Friends of the Earth. He has recently moved to ongoing employment with the Australian Conservation Foundation.
Our Constitution provides for the personal appointment of Directors as representatives of membership organisations. Thus, both Friends of the Earth and the Australian Conservation Foundation have indicated a willingness to ensure this representative capacity is clear for the membership as a whole.
If Jonathan La Nauze ceases to be the nominated representative of Friends of the Earth, clause 10.4(a)(iii) of the Constitution provides that the office of Director becomes vacant and thus a casual vacancy is created. Jonathan has indicated his intention to renominate for that casual vacancy on behalf of the Australian Conservation Foundation.
As is usual practice, whenever there is a casual vacancy on the Board of FSC Australia, the members are advised and nominations are called for. If any member of the Environment Chamber of FSC Australia wishes to nominate to be considered by the Board, you will need to complete the Directors Nomination form and return it to the Secretary (Natalie Reynolds) by no later than 5pm Friday 26 July 2013. All nominations will be considered by the Board.
